Join Victor Emanuel and Barry Lyon of Victor Emanuel Nature Tours for a free webinar! On Tuesday, September 13th, learn about our January Sub-Antarctic Islands of New Zealand expedition. Considered the seabird capital of the world, this region is home to 12 species or subspecies of albatross—over half the world’s count of 22!—and eight species of penguin. Add to that a dazzling profusion of petrels, prions, cormorants, waterfowl, and endemic landbirds, and it’s easy to see why New Zealand’s Sub-Antarctic Islands are truly a birder’s paradise. More than just a haven for birds, these wild and remote islands—Campbell, Macquarie, Aucklands, and Snares—are home to huge New Zealand sea lions, beautiful megaherbs, and dramatic seascapes—features bound to appeal to all lovers of nature.
