A lifelong Californian, Brennan Mulrooney was born and raised in San Diego, where his early fascination with the ocean led him to spend summers working at southern California’s leading aquarium and aboard sport fishing vessels off the coast. His love of wildlife expanded during his studies at the University of California, Davis, where a required ornithology course sparked a deep passion for birds and birding.
After earning his degree in wildlife and fisheries biology, Brennan embarked on a series of ornithological field studies across the United States. His research and survey work took him from the forests of northern California to the shores of the Salton Sea, and from the birding meccas of Cape May, New Jersey, to the mangroves of Key Largo, Florida.
Following six years in the Florida Keys, Brennan returned to San Diego, where he now lives with his wife, Brynne, and their two children, Declan and Saoirse. With keen observational skills, a sharp sense of humor, and an easygoing approach, Brennan has earned a reputation as a guide who brings both knowledge and joy to every birding experience.
