Tour Overview

Thailand, at the crossroads of three major biogeographic regions, boasts one of the richest avifaunas in Asia. Against a backdrop of golden pagodas, forested peaks, and tranquil rice paddies, our tour explores this remarkable diversity from the lowland jungles to the northern mountains.

We begin in the vibrant capital of Bangkok, then travel north to Khao Yai National Park, where evergreen forest and open glades hold Silver Pheasant, Great Hornbill, Red-headed Trogon, and troops of White-handed Gibbons swinging through the canopy. A night drive may reveal Slow Loris or Asian Elephant under the stars.

Continuing to northern Thailand, we ascend into the mountains around Doi Inthanon and Doi Chiang Dao, home to Green Peafowl, Himalayan Bluetail, Spectacled Barwing, and Silver-eared Mesia. At Doi Lang, near the Myanmar border, we’ll search for rarities like Hume’s Pheasant and Giant Nuthatch while taking in sweeping views of forested ridges.

In the south, the tour culminates in the coastal wetlands and jungles of Kaeng Krachan National Park, a biodiverse sanctuary where broadbills, barbets, hornbills, and perhaps even Blue Pitta brighten the rainforest. Along the Gulf of Siam, we’ll witness one of the world’s greatest shorebird spectacles, with chances to spot the endangered Spoon-billed Sandpiper.

Superb food, graceful hospitality, and Thailand’s legendary warmth make this a journey that blends culture, nature, and pure wonder in equal measure.
