Tour Overview

Aug 11–Aug 28, 2026
Aug 14–Aug 31, 2027

This three-country journey offers a vivid introduction to southern Africa’s great wildlife strongholds. From the vast, sunlit plains of Etosha National Park to the labyrinthine channels of the Okavango Delta and the dramatic spray of Victoria Falls, each region presents a distinct and unforgettable landscape.

In Namibia’s Etosha, we position ourselves at productive waterholes where elephant, zebra, springbok, and greater kudu gather in steady procession. Lion, cheetah, and even black rhinoceros remain real possibilities. Birdlife is equally compelling, with Secretarybird striding the grasslands, Martial Eagle surveying the plains, and vivid endemics such as Crimson-breasted Gonolek brightening thorn scrub.

In Botswana, the Okavango Delta transforms the experience entirely. As seasonal floodwaters recede, lagoons and channels concentrate waterbirds in remarkable numbers. Wattled Crane, Slaty Egret, African Pygmy Goose, and the sought-after Pel’s Fishing-Owl highlight our explorations by boat and vehicle. Moremi’s mosaic of mopane woodland, seasonal lagoons, and open plains adds further drama, with Leopard, Lion, and large elephant herds often encountered alongside Saddle-billed Stork and a diversity of raptors.

Our finale at Victoria Falls introduces the mighty Zambezi River and its lush riverine habitats. A boat excursion may reveal African Finfoot and a host of waterbirds, while nearby reserves provide close encounters with white rhinoceros and other iconic African wildlife.

Traveling by small chartered aircraft between remote camps and lodges, we remain immersed in prime habitat throughout. Comfortable accommodations, limited walking, and beautifully mild daytime temperatures combine with outstanding photographic opportunities to create a safari that feels both classic and intimate.

Ecosystems Experienced

This journey spans arid Namibian savannas and salt pans, the mopane woodlands and seasonal floodplains of northern Botswana, and the permanent waterways of the Okavango Delta and Zambezi River. Desert-edge grasslands, acacia scrub, papyrus-lined channels, and riverine forest combine to support an exceptional diversity of large mammals and African birdlife.
