Steeped in history and
flush with culture and timeless landscapes, Greece exudes Mediterranean allure
like perhaps no other place can. Sun-drenched islands and white-walled villages
are the stuff of imagination, but the ancient lands north and west of Athens,
the Peloponnesian Peninsula, are where in some important ways the heart of
Greece lies. It is here, amid fertile plains, scalloped shorelines, and rugged
mountains that “Western Civilization” was born. Cruising aboard a handsome motor yacht, we will visit
a selection of standout archaeological sites—Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia, and
Delphi—while traveling in high comfort. Birding opportunities are surprisingly
good, with Yelkouan Shearwater, Eleonora’s Falcon, Lesser Kestrel, Eastern
Black-eared Wheatear, Western Rock Nuthatch, Blue Rock-Thrush, and Cirl Bunting
all likely among other species. |
